Shani in Mandacharaha Prasannaatma Peedam Dhatu:
Surely, this work is being eclipsed on the day of Amavasya, so people should do charity on this day, by doing this all the sufferings of a person are removed. Brahmins should be fed food on this day. Those who are suffering from Kaal Sarp should worship Nag Devta on this day. Worshiping the Peepal tree on the day of Shanishchari Amavasya removes financial and mental troubles. Shri Krishna has told himself to be like a Peepal tree, therefore Shri Krishna ji should also be worshipped. The eclipse period is for some time, so during this time everyone should take care of God, doing so does not have a bad effect on the devotees.
